Greenhouse Monitor

This is an Embedded Systems II project with an objective of designing an environment logger to monitor a greenhouse. It logged variations in light intensity, temperature and humidity and alerted when out of range.

Horn Antenna Design

This is an Electromagnetism project that involved designing an antenna of choice using a simulation software called Feko. I designed a horn antenna that has a flaring metal waveguide and is typically used for Ultra High Frequencies and is common on DSTV LNBs.

rPi Binary Counter

A project that involved wiring several LEDs to different GPIO ports of a raspberry pi then creating a binary counter (counter in base 2) that lit up LEDs representing a binary number.

Python Mail Client

A Networks Engineering project aimed at understanding the fundamentals of email communication using the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) Protocol. A python client connecting to a mail server was used to send out email messages. More details in the git repository here.

Python Web Server

Another Networks Engineering project aimed at implementing the HTTP protocol you used to access this website. The fundamentals of internet browsing implemented by Apache, Nginx, Lighthttpd. Click here to out the code on my GitHub.

Sous-Chef WebApp

This is my second application using Nodejs. It won 2nd place in the UCT Developers Society Challenge. This is a webapp that implements a food API to give curated recipes, nutritional information, etc.It provides daily featured recipes and one can search using dietary, ingredient, cuisine and allergen filters. Degree Curriculum

A hackathon winning  24-hour web application done competing against the top developers at UCT participating. Won first prize by developing an application that digitized the UCT degree handbook and gave a student a personalized degree curriculum. It considered recalculated on failure of a course based on quickly finishing or reducing the load .

UCT ZimSoc Website

The UCT Zimbabwean Students Society Website’s aim is to be a collaborative platform where students share experiences, tips and assist each other in their academic journeys. It informs potential students on the application process, visas, scholarship opportunities and life at UCT and connects alumni to current students.

Table Bay ToastMasters

As part of my publicity campaigns during my tenure as Vice President Public Relations, I developed a website for the oldest Toastmasters Club in the western Cape. A digital Footprint for this iconic club was necessary especially during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. It marketed the club and increased membership.
